For yet another year, Buffalo Firefighters are teaming up with the Buffalo Sabres to raise money for SMART, the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Team.
Buffalo Firefighters will be at multiple locations throughout the city, from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m., collecting any amount of money you're willing to give. They'll be posted at these intersections:
- Oak & Genesee
- Elm & Swan
- Niagara Street exit of the 190, Sabretooth will collect donations
- Delaware and Hertel
- Skyway &Church, Pat Kaleta will collect donations
- Seneca & Bailey
- Abott & Red Jacket Way, Andrew Peters will collect donations
Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a motor neuron disease, meaning voluntary muscles used for crawling, walking, head and neck control and swallowing, don't function properly. SMA is the number one genetic cause of death for children under two years old.
