A man who was rescued from a fire Wednesday morning has died.
The 56-year-old was pulled from his fully engulfed apartment by Gowanda Police Officer Sean Hotnich and Perrysburg Firefighter Casey Jones.
Police said the two enter the building and made their way to the apartment encountering thick smoke, heat and fire. They found the man laying face down, severely burned and unconscious.
He was taken to Lake Shore Health Care Center before he was flow to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight.
