They do so much more than peddle thousands of boxes of your favorite cookies at the beginning of the year.
Girl Scouts of Western New York learn skills beyond how to sell those addicing Thin Mints. They learn STEM related skills in order to succeed in the workplace and branch into male-dominated fields.
Summer camp teaches them leadership skills, helps the girls disconnect from social media and focus on personal relationships.
Some of the girls also participate in Women of Distinction, an all female-led event series where oustanding members of the community are honored.
The Girl Scout organization also provides leadership, entreprenurial skills and education through community projects.
