The idea came to her just days ago.

Kendra Niewczyk, a 7th grader at Orchard Park Middle School wanted to do something for the kids at her mom’s job.

Her mother has been a nurse at Oishei Children’s Hospital for over a decade.

“She tells me that the babies there are like sick, and they recover,.

Hearing the stories when mom comes home is what spurred Kendra to take the initiative to help out.

Over the summer she had a lemonade stand that raised over $100 for families in the NICU, and now she is ready to do something for the holiday season.

“All the happiness it brings to me I like…giving the joy to all the people there,” said Kendra.

So, she went to her teachers.

“I came up with the idea to do a pajama day and make a flyer and have everyone donate, but then my teachers came up with the idea that we should just have a pajama day “

December 14th she, and about 100 of her classmates will have the chance to wear their pj’s to school for just $1.

The money raised will go towards purchasing Tim Hortons gift cards for parents that have children in intensive care.
