New York State Police say a 31-year-old female walked in and reported a violent domestic at her home. Upon further investigation, police discovered the female was unlawfully restrained at gunpoint with two young children within the house.
Police established a perimeter around the Wilson Street, Gerry, NY residence and 33-year-old Richard Sendall of Gerry surrendered to police and was taken into custody peacefully. The children were found safe.
He's charged with 3rd-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 2nd-degree Assault, 2nd-degree Unlawful Imprisonment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Officials also seized loaded firearms in the Sendall residence. He told police he was experiencing a medical emergency during processing.
They aided Sendall and transported him to Jamestown Hospital for treatment. His arraignment will come after he's released from the hospital.
