Gas prices are on the rise heading into Labor Day, but numbers remain lower than in previous years.
According to AAA, the price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Buffalo is $2.28, up one cent from last week.
In New York state, the average is $2.33 per gallon, up three cents from last week.
Across the country, the price per gallon jumped six cents, to $2.22.
The recent price hike is blamed on rising oil costs and recent weather issues, according to AAA.
