Buffalo gas prices are inching higher, but AAA says this summer's prices could be the cheapest in a decade.

AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.26, three cents higher than a week ago. That average is cheaper than the New York state average, but 12 cents higher than the National Average.

Syracuse and Rochester saw similar rises in prices over the past week.

AAA says the relatively low prices are prompting more drivers to take to the road. They predict prices may continue to rise the next few months due to supply challenges and increased demand for gas.

Despite that possible increase, AAA says that most drivers will pay the cheapest summertime prices in 12 years.
