"Not just losing a friend, but she was just a good person overall for everyone to know," Kelsey Baldwin, friend of Elizabeth Lytle, said.

Nearly two decades of friendship, Kelsey Baldwin of Lockport grew up competing in horse racing events with Lytle.

Lytle was killed in a car accident in Lockport on Monday night. Her friends are remembering Liz for the impact she had on everyone she met.

"She was really dedicated to always improving and open," Baldwin said.

Even when things were tough.

"She had found out she was having Olivia at a younger age and that was kind of tough on her," she said.

Baldwin says she took the sacrifices that came with being a young mother and gave up her passion for racing.

Liz and her now five-year-old daughter, Olivia, would ride and take lessons together.

"Even people that didn't know her well but just knew her from competing everyone knew her smile," Baldwin said.

Something her friends say could not go unnoticed.

Now a group of her friends are coming together to honor Elizabeth with a horse racing competition in her memory, the proceeds will go to her young daughter.
