It's a chance for neighbors to voice their concerns and get to know the men and women in uniforms patrolling the streets of the Masten District.

"I don't think having an adversarial relationship with law enforcement is very productive," Masten Council Member Ulysees Wingo, Sr. tells 7 Eyewitness News.

Wingo says now more than ever steps need to be taken to rebuild the relationship between officers and neighbors.

"I do believe talking out real issues , legitimate concerns is the way that way we bild trust back and a way to rebuild the relationships."

The town hall style meeting comes on the heels of the death of Wardell Davisan unarmed, 20-year-old black man, who died in police custody.

His death remains under investigation but served as a catalyst for conversation.
