A former youth pastor known in the area for mentoring youth in churches and schools is charged with possessing child pornography.

Town of Tonawanda Police have charged Scott Stockton, 44, with two counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child less than 17 years old and one count of possessing a sexual performance of a child.

Detectives say the arrest is a result of a year-long investigation that involved the Department of Homeland Security.

"We're talking about images in videos as well as still photographs," said Captain Joseph Carosi. "The charges involve those less than the age of 17. To say that the images involve those in their teenage years, early teen years would not be incorrect."

Stockton is the president of "You. Only Better." The company provides face-to-face and virtual life coaching. According to its website, http://www.you-only-better.org/ uses "the art and science of identity intelligence to help adults and young adults live the richest life possible."

Stockton is free on bond. He is due in Town of Tonawanda Court for a felony hearing Wednesday afternoon.
