Austin Harig, the teenager who ran against Carl Paladino for the Park District seat on the Buffalo School Board, is now planning to apply for the vacant seat.
Harig has reached out to the school board with a letter of interest and intent to apply to the seat.
In a release sent to media outlets, Harig says he is currently gathering letters of recommendations from people in South Buffalo to have a comprehensive and complete application.
Harig lost the electionin May, 2016 by a narrow margin.
Carl Paladino was recently ousted from the Buffalo School Board by the New York State Education Commissioner.
