The former Chief of Kenmore Police, Peter Breitnauer, will take a plea deal for a federal drug charge, according to the spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Breitnauer was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession of hydrocodone back in October.

He is due in federal court on January 10, 2019.

According to prosecutors, Breitnauer admitted that he is addicted to hydrocodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, and had been taking the pills from the medication drop box at the police station for his personal use.
