Another day another scam to watch out for, this one in Batavia.

Batavia Police say they've received a number of complaints about fraudulent posts on social media concerning rental apartments. The ads are showing up on Craigslist, Facebook and similar websites.

The scam artists claim to be real estate agents from a company called "Reality USA." They ask for a $700 deposit in exchange for the keys to the residence and the only contact information is an email address.

Police warn everyone that you should never give any money up front for an apartment until you have done a walk-thru of the residence and signed a lease.

If you have any information on this scam you should call Batavia Police at 585-345-6350.
