Erie County Health Officials are urging everyone in Western New York to get their flu shot.
Health officials say an estimated 80,000 people died from the flu in the 2017-2018 season, which is the highest number since the 1970s. They also say there was an increase in deaths related to complications due to the flu.
There is no guarantee that receiving the flu vaccine will prevent someone from becoming ill, but there is a much greater chance of getting the flu if you don't immunize and protect yourself.#FluShot
