A JetBlue flight from Chicago to Boston had to make an emergency landing in Buffalo.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said Wednesday afternoon the flight was diverted due to smoke in the cockpit. He added that all passengers are safe.

JetBlue released the following statement to 7 Eyewitness news:

“On Wednesday, March 30th, Flight #1012 from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to Boston Logan (BOS) diverted to Buffalo (BUF) out of an abundance of caution following an odor of smoke in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely in Buffalo and is being inspected. Customers are being re-accommodated on other flights.”
