Firefighters all around Pembroke were fighting a second fire, Friday morning, at a house that caught fire Thursday.
Firefighters were called back to the home on Route 77, in Genesee County, about 1:30 a.m. Friday. Turns out, the fire was right down the block from the Indian Falls Fire Department.
A lot of garbage was found inside the house, according to firefighters, which added fuel to the fire.
"It did and the fire started in the southwest corner. That's where the initial flames were visable. The southwest wind just help spread it through the house," said Fire Chief Jamie Waff.
Waff said an elderly man escaped from the fire. It does not appear he was hurt.
The house is a total loss.
