The Buffalo Fire Department attended to an early morning bedroom fire in the city's Hamlin Park neighborhood.
The fire broke out just after 4 a.m. Monday at 345 Florida Street.
Division Chief Michael Biasillo told 7 Eyewitness News that his crews encountered a second floor bedroom fire in the rear of the house.
“We had pretty heavy smoke conditions on the second floor. We had fire in the rear in a bedroom on the second floor and it extended up and into the attic. We got the roof opened right away, got it vented. Our crews did a good job," said Biasillo.
The resident was able to make it out of the fire on his own. No one was hurt.
Damages were estimated to be $60,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
