It was a tense scene on Buffalo's east side Friday night as firefighters battled a fast-moving fire at the Save $ Plus convenience store.
The business located near the corner of East Delavan and Cambridge suffered more than $200,000 in damage and will soon be demolished.
Buffalo Police responded to a robbery at the store around 8:30p.m. Two suspects, one armed with a gun, entered the store and demanded money. There was a call of a fire at the same location a short time later.
The scene quickly escalated to a two-alarm blaze with at least 60 firefighters working to get the intense flames under control. Initially crews were told people may have been trapped but everyone is accounted for.
Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield said they are interviewing possible suspects as well as the owner of the store and employees.
Investigators are still trying to determine what started the fire.
