The fight to legalize mixed martial arts in New York State has entered another round.
Representatives from the UFC and lawmakers from Rochester and Buffalo made appearances in Western New York on Tuesday showing their support for MMA. Lawmakers believe professional mixed martial arts would generate $137 million in economic activity in the state.
"It's unimaginable to think that the State of New York is the only state in the nation where these individuals can not pursue their goals and their dreams," said New York State Senator Tim Kennedy.
Supporters says UFC events will pump millions of dollars into the upstate economy.
