It's official. The Ferry Street Bridge is back up and running.

City leaders and the United States Army Corp of Engineers gathered on Monday to celebrate the completion of an extensive rehab project with a ceremonial bridge lowering. The $8.5 million addressed structural and mechanical repairs. It also included a fresh coat of paint for the bridge.

Officials say this rehab project led to an improved connection between neighborhoods along Niagara Street to the Broderick Park area.
