Father loses son to hit and run

Posted

For the Olewniczak family, life changed Sunday morning, when 27 year-old Adam was hit by a car in a Cheektowaga parking lot, and left to die.

"I lost a very special boy," said Adam's father Charles. "It's heartbreaking. My life is never going to be the same."

Saturday night, Adam had plans to go out with friends. He had arranged transportation so he would not have to drive home. His family says he did everything right. He called a friend for a ride early Sunday morning and was waiting in a parking lot off Transit Road, when he was hit.

"We found out Sunday morning that he had been hit by a car," said Charles. "If that person would have stopped, he may have still been here today. This is my worst nightmare."

Cheektowaga Police say they have a search warrant for the suspected vehicle involved, but so far there is no word on a potential suspect.

Adam's family is pleading for their son's killer to come forward.

"It's never going to be the same without him. He was very well loved. I just hope that if anyone saw anything please come forward. Help Cheektowaga Police on this please. It's all we're asking."
