A Clarence man was killed Friday evening in a head-on accident in the Town of Royalton, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriffs responded to an accident on Akron Road near Miller Road, and upon arrival found one vehicle in the roadway while another was off the road and in a ditch.

Officials say their initial investigation reveals that a westbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Terence Standsblack, of Clarence, attempted to pass the vehicle ahead of him by using the eastbound lane when he struck an eastbound traveling vehicle head-on.

Standsblack was transported to ECMC where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, Devon Kinney, 26, of Lockport, was also taken to ECMC and she remains there in stable condition.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the accident.
