Four months after he and his family lost everything in an apparent racially motivated arson, North Tonawanda Firefighter Ken Walker is still humble.

"We're not better than the next person that loses their house or anything like that, but it could have been a lot worse," said Ken Walker.

In August, the volunteer firefighter received a racially charged note in his mailbox, threatening he leave his post as a North Tonawanda Volunteer Fireman. Two days later, his house was torched and the family lost everything.

Police later arrested his neighbor and fellow firefighter Matthew Jurado for the arson, but never found out who wrote the racist letter. Although Walker has moved on, he still wants answers.

"I think once I know what conspired with the letter, I'll feel a lot better," he said.

Thousands donated to the Walker's rebuild effort on Go Fund Me. The family, using the proceeds to purchase a forever home, and even give back.

"We donated to a couple of charities, and Go Fund Me accounts that had similar instances as to what happened to us."

The kindness hasn't stopped.

"A few days ago, we got a call that someone donated Christmas gifts."

There is an upcoming trial for Jurado.
