A Buffalo family is grieving after their mother was shot and killed New Year's Day.
30-year-old Shanna Mason was shot outside a home on Gold Street around 10:15 Sunday morning. She leaves behind a 4-year-old son, a 7-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old daughter.
"She is a wonderful mother, she would do anything for us," said her 11-year-old daughter Aniyah.
Aniyah wanted to tell us about her mother, who she says was the best.
"She's the only person I knew who could care about somebody so much," she said.
Shanna's family is left with questions. Why would someone do this?
"You never think you're going to lose your child to violence," said Shanna's mother Patricia Mason. "That's going to take a toll on me forever."
Shanna was one of three people shot and killed in Buffalo within the first 12 hours of the New Year. Buffalo Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
"Whoever did this is a very cold-hearted person, and when they did this, they really weren't thinking," said Aniyah.
A Go Fund Me accounthas been set up for the kids.
