An army captain from Clarence died Thursday after engaging enemy forces in Kunduz Afghanistan.
Family members of Captain Andrew Byers released the following statement of thanks to the public:
"We cannot put into words what the outpouring of love and prayer for Andy and our family has meant to us. While our hearts are broken, your kindness helps us to carry on to honor our selfless soldier. Please continue to pray for all of our men and women in uniform who put themselves in harm's way for our freedom and the freedom of people everywhere."
