A Niagara Falls city councilman now admits he was driving drunk the night he crashed his vehicle.

Ezra Scott Jr. pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DWI this morning in Lockport City Court.

Police say Scott's car hit a pole in the 300 block of Hyde Park Boulevard around 3 a.m. on March 11th.

The case was transferred from Niagara Falls to Lockport in April to avoid any conflicts of interest.

He is due back in court for sentencing later this year.

Scott is the second member of the Niagara Falls City Council to face charges in six months. In November, chairman Charles Walker was charged with failing to provide financial disclosure reports with the New York State Board of Elections.

Walker has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
