Chances are you received a message from one of your Facebook friends this past weekend.
The message started with, "Hey I actually got another friend request from you which I ignored, so you might want to check your account."
The Facebook hoax was the talk of social media this weekend, and opened millions of accounts to hackers.
"The danger is whatever the people who receive this message respond with," said Steve MacMartin who is a former Cyber Security Investigator with the Department of Homeland Security.
The hackers were using "Facebook cloning" to make fake accounts with your photos and birthday. Then, using those fake accounts to have conversations with your friends, to access their personal information.
The message asked you to forward it to all your friends.
If you did this, your account was not compromised.
The best thing to do is delete the message if and once you receive it.
