Lockport Schools approves security contract

Lockport City Schools is looking to add an additional layer of security protection at its buildings. At the board meeting Monday, board members approved a contract with U.S. Security Associates to provide officers who will monitor more than 300 cameras across the district.

Those officers would monitor the district's cameras and coordinate a response to different situations with the school resource officers.

According to documents submitted to the board of education, the company's officers would work 75 hours per week at a regular cost of $28.86 per hour and $43.29 per hour at the overtime rate. U.S. Security Associates has similar contracts with Clarence CSD, Depew UFSD and North Tonawanda City Schools.

U.S. Security Associates is a national safety and security company. It has a regional office in Buffalo.
