Construction on I-990 (Lockport Expressway) will begin Monday in Amherst.
Drivers should expect lane closures on I-990 southbound between North French Road and I-290 as highway repairs and drainage improvements begin.
As work progresses, lane closures will shift from the southbound to the northbound direction. Work is expected to last about 8 to 10 weeks, but can be delayed due to weather.
