They're getting ready for the 9th annual Polar Plunge at Woodlawn Beach in Blasdell, set for 2p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers were out Friday cleaning up the beach to make sure it's safe for the more than one thousand people expected to drip down to their trunks and jump into the frigid waters of Lake Erie.

The annual event helps to raise money for the Special Olympics.
