An Erie County Community College hockey player accused of slamming a referee to the ice has pleaded guilty to assault, according to WBNG.

Brandon Day, 19, is seen on camera storming out of the penalty box and bringing the 62-year-old official down to the ice during the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship at the SUNY Broome Ice Center in late February.

Day was immediately ejected from the game and sent to the locker room and is accused of damaging the room while detained.

WBNG says Day was arraigned in Town of Dickson Court Thursday morning and will pay $525 to SUNY Broome for locker room damage. He is also expected to pay the referee's $1000 worth of medical expenses.
