Erie County Water Authority: Southtowns residents should conserve water

UPDATE: Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says the Erie County Water Authority has determined where the break happened, pressure should be restored soon.

ORIGINAL: The Erie County Water Authority has reported a break in a transmission main at the Sturgeon Point Treatment Plant in the Town of Evans.

The ECWA says this will have an impact on the Southtowns, asking residents there to voluntarily conserve water.

ECWA authorities are currently assessing the problem and shutting it down.

There is no estimation as to when the break will be repaired, stay tuned to 7 Eyewitness News for more information as it becomes available.
