Deputies from the Erie County Sheriff's Office may soon be wearing body cameras.
The Sheriff's office has been talking to equipment manufacturers and plans to set up a field test and evaluation of body cameras by mid-November.
Right now this will only be a test but the Sheriff's office will develop Policy and Procedure protocols for body cameras during this period.
The Sheriff's Office is also looking for funding estimating the cost of body cameras for 150 deputies could cost as much as $300,000.
