Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says he's disappointed with some members of the legislature after they voted against a borrowing agreement with Erie County Medical Center.
According to Poloncarz, the deal would have saved the county millions of dollars in annual payments to the hospital and also facilitate the hospital's construction of a new emergency room.
The vote was seven-to-four in favor of the plan, but the vote failed as eight votes in the affirmative were necessary to approve the proposed borrowing.
Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo says the only way to solve the budget issue is by changing the way the county operates.
