Six K9s with the Erie County Sheriff's Office have brand new body armor thanks to a charitable donation.
Cali, Ciro, Drago, Haso, Loki and Monty have received bullet and stab protective vests from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office now has a total of 11 K9s with body armor from Vested Interest in K9s. Each vest has a value between $1,744 - $2,283.
The non-profit, Vested Interest, provides the vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement throughout the United States. Vested Interest has provided 3,000 protective vests in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a value of $5.7 million.
