Construction is well underway on the Northland Avenue corridor between Grider and Fillmore.  Drive through the area, located near ECMC, and you'll see massive buildings being redeveloped.  It's all part of a $60 million investment to give the neighborhood a fresh start and get people working in jobs that offer family wages.

By fall 2018, 683 Northland will be home to the Workforce Training Center, where an expected 150 job-seekers will be entering into a program to get trained to become skilled in advanced manufacturing.

So far, the team has approximately 40 people enrolled in the Workforce Training Center's inaugural program thanks to robust enrollment and pre-enrollment sessions taking place at 1670 Broadway.  But more people are wanted.  There are thousands of advanced manufacturing jobs waiting to be filled by local employers.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend a pre-enrollment session.  In an effort to eliminate barriers to access, all that is required is a valid identification.  Enrollment coaches and academic advisers are on site to help people retain their transcripts and other documentation required later in the enrollment process.

Pre-enrollment sessions are held Tuesdays at 6pm, Wednesdays at 10am, and Thursdays at 4pm.
