A new Mexican restaurant is coming to Buffalo's Elmwood village. “Aguacates”, which is Spanish for avocados, is replacing Agave at 756 Elmwood Avenue. Agave closed in October after an immigration raid.
Aquacates already has a location in Lockport. The owner, Jose Castaneda, says the restaurant should be up and running by the end of this month, ready to serve up lunch and dinner seven days a week.
Fans of Aquacates in Lockport will feel right at home since the menu will be the same, with favorites such as steak and seafood plates, caritas pork plates, tamales, and chile rellenos. Plus, patrons can help themselves to a full bar with margaritas and beer.
