Chason Affinity, the developers looking to turn the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Forest Avenue into a four story mixed-use building, will have to wait for approval of the Buffalo Zoning Board.
They want six changes that would not fit in to the newly enacted zoning plan, known as the Green Code.
Most of the changes pertain to the size of the building. Developers want it larger than the Green Code allows.
Neighbors, have differing views on the proposal. They spoke up at a zoning board meeting on Wednesday.
“One of the things I feel really strongly about is an urban area needs to grow and evolve if we become static we die,” said Catherine Gillespie.
“Why are we trying to fix what isn't broke. Why aren't we trying to invite these gentlemen to other neighborhoods that are desperately in need of development,” said Frank LaVoie.
The next zoning board meeting is July 19th.
