The Buffalo Zoo's annual "Elephantastic" event takes place on Saturday.
Elephant Barn Zoo keepers have a whole day of activities scheduled for the public. Those activities will run from 11am to 3pm and will include keeper chats, elephant barn tours and themed crafts.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the Zoo's Asian elephants Jothi and Surapa through an elephant feeding encounter.
Through family events like this, the Buffalo Zoo hopes to educate its visitors on the Asian elephant, which is classified as endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
