The ambulance was taking 85-year-old Joseph Sangbush of Perrysburg from the hospital to a group home at the time of the crash. Fangbush was killed.
Three other people were taken to local hospitals, including two Rural Metro medics and the driver of the semi. The driver of the semi is in a medically-induced coma at ECMC. The two medics suffered minor injuries.
Fire officials believe the weather conditions mixed with slick roads is to blame for the crash, but the accident remains under investigation.
At this time, no charges have been filed.
