The Town of Eden, with a population of 7,670, is being recognized as one of the safest places in the country.
A Safewise Report released in April named Eden, New York the twenty-third safest town in America.
The report uses recent FBI crime data to calculate the rate of crimes per 1,000 people in cities and towns reporting very low or no violent crimes.
Eden was also named the fifth safest town in New York by Elite Personal Finance. The town reported zero violent crimes in 2016.
The Eden Town Board will recognize the Eden Police Department for their dedication to protecting the community. The presentation will be held at 7:00 p.m. during the regular town board meeting at Eden Town Hall on May 9.
