The Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) says the water pressure in the Southtowns has returned to normal.

Because Lake Erie has not frozen over, icy slush partially restricted water flowing into the Authority's Sturgeon Point Water Treatment Plant in the Town of Evans, according to the ECWA.

This restriction of the water flow reduced the plant's production of water levels for a short time Monday. This resulted in low water pressure in some areas in the Southtowns.

The ECWA says it adjusted the plant operating conditions and the system returned to normal.

The Authority says it will continue to monitor this situation.
