The Erie Community College hockey player seen on video attacking a referee is facing a new charge of assault in Broome County.

The District Attorney's Office says freshman, Brandon Day, intentionally hit the referee, causing physical injury and leaving the ref unconscious.

The incident happened Sunday during the finally seconds of a championship game in Binghamton.

Day is already facing charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Day is suspended from E.C.C. pending further review by the school.
