West Seneca police say a drunk driver skidded into a police SUV while officers were investigating another DWI.

On Thursday, police pulled a driver over in the 900 block of Union Road for failing to drive with her headlights on. Officers say they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and noticed the driver, Dorothy Mix, had glassy eyes. They arrested conducted a field sobriety test and arrested Mix for DWI.

During the DWI investigation, officers heard squealing tires behind them and turned around to see a car skidding towards them. The car crashed into the back of one of the police SUVs on scene where officers had just been to get equipment for their investigation from the trunk.

Officers investigated the crash and found the driver, Scott Miller, to also smell of alcohol and have glassy eyes. Miller admitted to having his "fair share" of beers, according to police. He was evaluated by paramedics and refused further care.

Officer conducted a field sobriety test for Miller and arrested him for DWI.

Mix and Miller were both taken back to the West Seneca Police Station where they gave breath test samples of .17% and .14% respectively.

Miller was charged with DWI, speeding and violating the "move over law," according to police.

Both people were released to a sober third party and are due in court at a later date.
