DWI arrests decline in Erie County, thanks to ride-sharing?

Data from STOP-DWI office show that DWI arrests for the period July 3rd to September 17th are down from last year.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Central Police Services Commissioner James Jancewicz will meet today to review and discuss DWIs during the summer months across Erie County.

Officials reported "enforcement efforts, the potential of severe consequences, and the availability of ride sharing may all play a part in the decline."

We will update the story with information from Poloncarz.
