UPDATE: The YMCA believes Maroney got intoxicated off of camp property, then came back to camp. He was immediately suspended and then terminated. The YMCA is still investigating the incident.

Original: A Camp Hough counselor returned to the campgrounds intoxicated and entered the wrong cabin to sleep.

On the morning of July 29th, Nicholas D. Maroney, age 20, was seen by other staff and campers leaving a 7-year-old girl's occupied bunk bed.

Maroney was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, arraigned in the Town of Castile Court, and held in the Wyoming County Jail.

Maroney was then a camp counselor at YMCA Genesee/Camp Hough in Town of Castille, N.Y.

There is no report of sexual contact at this time.

Maroney is set to reappear in the Town of Castile Court on August 7, 2017.
