First responders transported a driver to a local hospital late Thursday night after a one-vehicle crash in Elma.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office and Spring Brook Fire District responded to the crash on Transit Road near Kinsley Road around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, near Cazenovia Creek. A 7 Eyewitness News photographer witnessed a blue pickup truck with heavy damage.

Deputies say the truck rolled off the road, leaving the driver pinned and unconcious. Firefighters had to cut the driver out of the vehicle. Deputies say the truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

A utility pole was knocked out in the crash, and was left hanging by power lines on either side.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Erie County Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Deputies are looking into what may have caused the crash. So far, no charges have been filed.
