Driver in crash left with serious bodily trauma

A head on car crash in Grand Island Tuesday evening seriously injured one of the drivers and injured two other people.

According to Grand Island Fire Company, the crash happened on Stony Point Road between Bedell Road and Regency Drive.

Fire Chief Matt Osinski says 37-year-old Jeremy Wallens of Grand Island had severe bodily trauma as a result of thecrash and was transported by Twin Cities Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for critical medical care.

A passenger, 47-year-old Lori Niemann, also from Grand Island, had lesser injuries and was also transported by TCA to ECMC for a followup treatment after being attended to on scene by first responders, according to officials.

Grand Island Fire Company says the other driver, 23-year-old Brandy Whiting of Grand Island, was transported by TCA to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for precautionary treatment.
