A 26-year-old man is charged with DWI after a serious crash in Lewiston over the weekend.
Lewiston police responded to a report of a one-car crash on Ridge Road just before 4 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, officers say they found the driver walking around the scene. The vehicle showed heavy front-end damage and a tree at the scene had part of its trunk snapped off. Pictures released by the Lewiston Police Department show tire marks leading up to the tree, and a tire laying on the ground. The front of the vehicle is almost completely destroyed.
Officers performed a field sobriety test and reported the driver failed. He was arrested for DWI and taken to Erie County Medical Center by the Lewiston Fire Company.
Police have not released the driver's name. He was released with a court appearance ticket.
