The driver who police say hit and killed two people near a house party in Wheatfield in August has been acquitted of her reckless driving charge.

Carly Marrs was found guilty of imprudent speed and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Marrs was driving on Shawnee Road and hit a total of three people. The parked cars on the road from the house party made it difficult for the pedestrians to move out of the way. The late hour of the night and lack of lighting, Marrs said she could not see the pedestrians.

Police say Marrs passed all field drug tests, but a blood test showed she used marijuana before the crash.

She is scheduled for sentencing on February 8.
